Terms of Service
Last updated —
These terms govern your use of Archaiv ("the service"), operated by Benjamin Etienne, Geneva, Switzerland. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language — no legal traps.
What the service does
Archaiv lets you save web pages exactly as you see them, using a browser extension that captures pages within your authenticated browser session. Your saved pages are stored privately in your account and are accessible only to you.
You are responsible for only saving content you have the right to access. The extension captures pages you can already see — it does not circumvent paywalls, it works within your existing subscriptions and sessions.
Your account
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
- You may delete your account at any time. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.
Acceptable use
You may not use Archaiv to:
- Store or distribute illegal content of any kind.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or otherwise abuse the service infrastructure.
- Create multiple free accounts to circumvent storage limits.
- Resell or redistribute the service without written permission.
Payments and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
- When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again.
- We do not offer refunds for partial months.
- Prices may change with 30 days notice. You can cancel before any price change takes effect.
Your data
Your saved pages belong to you. We do not sell, share, or analyse the content of your archive. You can export your data at any time on a paid plan. If you delete your account, your data is gone — we do not keep backups of deleted accounts.
See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and why.
Service availability
We aim for high availability but make no guarantees. The service is provided as-is. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we shut down the service entirely, we will give at least 60 days notice and provide a data export tool so you can retrieve your pages.
Limitation of liability
Archaiv is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Geneva, Switzerland.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. If changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
